Your book report should have the following format.  You need at least ONE paragraph for each element.  The title of your post should be the title and the author of the book you read.  Type your report in Microsoft Word, then copy and paste it into the comment section of this blog post after you proofread your work.  
  • 1. Introduction-The introduction contains the title, author, and a brief sentence about the topic of the book.  
  • 2. Setting-The setting describes the time period and location.
  • 3. Characters-The section on characters mentions minor groups of characters but names and describes the major ones.
  • 4. Plot-The plot explains what the major character attempts to do: to discover, to overcome, to adapt, to learn, to find, to become, to mature, to solve, to conquer.
  • 5. Plot Resolution-How are the final problems solved? How does everything work out? What is the final attitude of the main character(s)?
  • 6. Conclusion-an evaluation of the book as a literary work. What was the author’s purpose? Does the book teach a lesson or a moral? Are the characters role models? Why is it recommended?

YOU NEED TO PROOFREAD YOUR WORK BEFORE POSTING TO THE BLOG!!  SIMPLE ERRORS WILL LEAD TO SERIOUS DEDUCTIONS!


BOOK REPORT #1 IS DUE ON DECEMBER 3, 2012 BY 11:59 PM


 
Now that we have finished watching The Avengers, you will need to write a movie review in Microsoft Word.  Your elements of the review should include:
  • Your Opinion:  What parts of the movie did you like or dislike?  Be sure to give reasoning for your opinion.
  • Outline of the Movie: Give an outline of the plot, but do not give away any surprises or the end.
  • Popular Actors:  Who were some of the major actors and what characters did they play?  What did you think of his/her performance?  Be sure to explain your reasoning.
  • Thumbs up/down:  Overall, would you give this one or two thumbs up?  Or would you give it one or two thumbs down?

In addition to these movie review elements, you need to incorporate at least: (the markings will not show up in the blog post, but they need to be in the Word document you will print off in class on Monday!)
  • (4) simple sentences  (mark in bold)
  • (2) compound sentences (mark in italics)
  • (1) complex sentence (mark with an underline)
A portion of your grade will be based on the basic grammar skills-punctuation, capitalization, spelling.  Make sure you proofread your work!

When you are done, copy your movie review and paste it in the comment section below.  Be sure to use your Weebly username in the name part of the form.  Do not include your email address!
